Event Review:
“An Overview of
Japanese Silent Film...<Part
II>”
Thank you all for coming!
The second screening event hosted by Digital Meme and the NPO Heart
Connections was a success thanks to everyone who came out. We were
grateful for such a large audience on a
weeknight.
Our
benshi performer for the night was wonderful Mr. Raiko Sakamoto. His
excellent performance, along with the English, Chinese, or Korean
subtitles accompanying each film, allowed the foreign residents
gathered for the event to fully enjoy the silent films shown.
We hope to do more of these events in the future and continue to share
the amazing experience that is a silent film screening with as many
people as possible.

Event: “An Overview of
Japanese Silent Film...”,
Thanks to everyone, the night
was a success!
The event hosted by Digital Meme and NPO Heart Connections drew a large
audience.
This screening came out of an idea by Heart Connections, which
supports Asian exchange students, that wanted foreign people in Japan
to experience seeing old Japanese silent films with live benshi
narration.
We screened movies with English, Chinese, and Korean subtitles and had
Raiko Sakamoto as our benshi performer for the night.
It was delightful to see so many foreign residents among the audience.
We would like to do more of these screenings in the near future and we
welcome you to join us next time.
